Accounting Internships

The Accounting Internship Program

Our Accounting Internship Program gives students an opportunity to execute actual accounting practices by assisting accounting personnel with accurate and timely records, verifications, and reports for Project Light’s finances. Interns have the chance to work alongside a leader as well as autonomously in the following areas:

  • Gain practical, hands-on experience with QuickBooks
  • Analyze financial data
  • Enter journal entries
  • Prepare financial information for grant applications
  • Learn about audits and 990s
  • Research and implement petty cash methods
  • Perform book-keeping
  • Work with payroll and bank statements
  • Operate various branches of accounting
  • Adhere to the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Assist president in preparing for board meetings

Because we are a small organization, our interns are exposed to several areas in accounting, which proves to be extra beneficial. To learn how past Accounting interns have benefited from Project Light’s internship program, feel free to review their testimonials!

In order to apply for this internship, you must be a currently enrolled, degree-seeking student (or a recent graduate) and must adhere to your school’s interning policies. We also base candidates’ employability on a few other criteria. The major most suitable for this program is Accounting.
