During my internship at Project Light, I had the opportunity to put what I learned in my marketing and communication classes to use towards the organization’s needs. I applied my knowledge and skills to this real-world setting, and although supervised, I was given enough autonomy to think independently and creatively while openly sharing my ideas with others. I contributed to Project Light’s website from a marketing perspective, did some research, and developed promotional materials among other things. In addition, I assisted in other areas, by option. Essentially, my internship was very rewarding and my supervisor, Mr. Malinowski, demonstrated high regard for everything that I did. The way I was treated by everyone-- as an equal-- increased my overall satisfaction and even encouraged me to volunteer after my tenure!
