Fill My
Cup
Literacy
Center
Charlotte,
NC.
This Learning Center was started several years ago, and is going “great guns.” Learning Center Director Sheila Kirby tutored 16 students for the summer, and generally works with 30-40 students over the course of a year. Fill My Cup focuses on adult literacy and GED needs – primarily high school drop-outs. Students begin their time working through the Project Light Program and then they move to the GED portion of our 1:1 Tutoring Program, BLS Tutorsystems. Once they have completed both programs they are ready to take the GED test. Sheila discovered a great organization called www.volunteermatch.org. This organization matches volunteers with non-profit organizations all over the U.S.
